General and programme-specific entry criteria
1️⃣ Artisan Programmes (Level 4)
- Minimum Entry Requirement:
- KCSE Mean Grade: D– (Minus) and above
- Overview:
- Artisan courses at Kaelo TVC are designed for students who wish to gain fundamental technical and vocational skills. These programs focus on hands-on training and practical competencies in various trades.
2️⃣ Craft Certificate Programmes (Level 5)
- Minimum Entry Requirement:
- KCSE Mean Grade: D (Plain) and above
- Overview:
- Craft certificate programmes provide intermediate technical and vocational skills that prepare trainees for entry-level employment or progression to diploma level.
3️⃣ Diploma Programmes (Level 6)
- Minimum Entry Requirement:
- KCSE Mean Grade: C– (Minus) and above
- Overview:
- Diploma programmes at Kaelo TVC offer advanced technical, managerial, and professional skills. They allow trainees to pursue careers in industry or proceed to higher diploma or university degree level.
📌 Additional Notes for Kaelo TVC
- All programmes are offered under KNEC, CDACC (Competency-Based Training), or TVET Curriculum.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for applicants with work experience.
- Admissions are done in January, May, and September intakes.
- Fee structures and joining instructions vary by department.
📘 RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) Requirements – Kaelo TVC Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) allows individuals who have skills, knowledge, and work experience—but lack formal academic certificates—to be assessed and admitted into appropriate TVET
- 1️⃣ Personal Identification
- 2️⃣ Evidence of Work Experience
- An applicant should demonstrate experience relevant to the course they want to pursue.
- This may include:
- ✔ Work Experience Letters
- ✔ Portfolio / Samples of Work
- ✔ Business Ownership Proof (if self-employed)
5️⃣ Identification & Documents
- National ID / Birth Certificate (original + photocopy)
- KCSE Certificate or Result Slip (original + photocopy)
- Admission Letter
- Acceptance Form
- Fee structure / proof of payment (if applicable)
- Passport-size photos (2–4 pieces)
